I was born in Seattle, grew up in Japan and Ballard. I was a multi-sport athlete (basketball, softball, swimming, skiing, etc.), until I fell in love with running. I started running when I was in freshman year in high school with cross country team. I was able to improve throughout my high school years, and was able to join the University of Washington cross country and track team. I graduate from UW in 2007 with BA in Art History and BFA in Drawing and Painting. After my college running career, I started running full marathons, and trained to qualify for Olympic Trials. Unfortunately, with multiple injuries, I wasn’t able to get the qualifier and I had to go away from running marathons for few years, but I am trying to get back into running marathons in 2018!
