Whats happenin? My name is Faris Hanhaz.

I am originally from Detroit, Michigan and yes... I do work on cars. I am a automotive technician at Lexus of Bellevue and recently graduated from Shoreline Community College.

I have 2 dogs, a beautiful wife, and we love being outside no matter what the weather is like. I don’t watch much T.V. or sports but love to run anywhere. I live in Seattle and feel like I lived here my whole life, the people are great, and the city is always active any time of day or night.

I found my way to running through boxing. You have to run a lot but I did not like getting punched in the head, so I kept running. I used to weigh 286 pounds and lost most of the weight through running. Now I am addicted and can’t stop running. The thing I like the most about running is the hard work you have to put in to get improvement. I love the grind!!

I love to feel my heartbeat in my throat! Most of all, I love self improvement! If you can put hard work as a runner every thing else in life is kind of easy. Lol!

I found Cascade Run Club from running local races. I had seen them a couple of times and then Google searched the name. I had been on the web looking for a group, club, or even a coach to help me get better. When I read about CRC on the website and the coaches backgrounds I knew instantly that I could learn from them. It was a no brainer for me so I emailed them. I joined the club in mid February of 2017 and never looked back. I have never trained with a group before and don’t know how I did it before. It was what I was missing! Also getting feedback from elite level coaches is awesome!

They have lots of knowledge of the sport!

My favorite thing about running with the team is having people that are like minded to workout with. I get butterflies when I wake up on Sunday for the long runs. I am constantly looking at the clock on Wednesday’s while I’m at work, anticipating practice. But the best thing is meeting new friends and having people to drink a beer with after races.
