Tunnel Light Marathon Race Day

The Tunnel Light Marathon is the last race of a 3-race series on a speedy and beautiful USATF-certified course on the Iron Horse and Snoqualmie Valley Trails – both remains of old railroad tracks. A unique quality of the series – and the reason for the name – is the 2.4 mile long train tunnel that runners make their way through only half a mile into the course. This point to point race delivers excellent times thanks to the consistent downhill grade and low starting elevation. It is the perfect race to set a Personal Record and snag a Boston Qualification.

Race day conditions were a bit on the damp side, but our Cascade Run Club crew kicked butt regardless! Check out the stats below:

Coming up next we have the Chicago Marathon (October 7), and the Snohomish River Run (Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10k – October 14). We also have a charity fun run in the mix, the Run and Run S’more 5k (October 13 – pre-race shake out run for our Snohomish River Runners!)
