Welcome to Tunnel Marathons! To our participants in the past years of Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon and especially to our volunteers, we want to extend a big Thank You! We are gonna do it big this year with 3 races, all on the same fast Boston-qualifying course.
This is a unique course you WON'T find anywhere else. Set in the beautiful North Bend and Snoqualmie area, it features a jaw-dropping 2-mile tunnel cut right through rigid landscape eventually opening to a sprawling Pacific Northwest paradise.
It began in 1985 as a race between bars and as a training event for an Irish Olympian. Now it’s Seattle’s largest single-distance fun run/walk, where the winners cross the finish before the last person starts. The Dash fills three miles of Seattle streets with a ribbon of green.
The F5 St. Patrick’s Day Dash is a family event with something for everyone. There are young athletes racing to be the first across the Finish Line, and former jocks racing to be the first in the beer garden. With 34 years of history, the Dash attracts three generations of participants.
The Lake Sammamish Half Marathon takes runners along the smooth trail that connects Marymoor Park in Redmond to Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. This interurban trail is very popular with runners; about 30% of the course will be on smooth gravel surface and 70% on pavement.
The race is chip-timed, and each racer will receive a custom bib, a finisher medal, a long-sleeve microfiber Tech Shirt and sponsor products. Aid stations are provided every few miles (see course map) with Clif gels/bloks, fruit, nuun and water, and the finish line will be by the beach and includes a nice line up of food and music.
Come join us on this fun long weekend. We will be having our 5k 10k 15k and two person 5k team option for this event. For the 5k team option create a team name for the two of you and each person runs a 5k and both times are added together at the end for your team time.
Based at beautiful Magnuson Park on the shores of Lake Washington the scenic 5k, 10k and 15k run/walks are fun and affordable.
